Vortrag in Deutsch mit Simultanübersetzung nach Französisch / Présentation en allemand avec traduction simultanée en français. Wer sind unsere Nutzer:innen, wie nutzen sie unsere Services und wie erfahren wir, was sie wollen? Diese oder ähnliche Fragen stellen sich wohl alle Bibliotheken, und jede findet auf ihre Weise Lösungen und Antworten. Dies kann über eine klassische Umfrage sein, über Interviews oder Fokusgruppen, Beobachtungen, oder auch durch Methoden aus dem User Experience wie Persona, Empathy Maps oder Love Letters. Dabei zielen wir darauf ab, unsere Nutzer:innen in Gruppen einzuteilen und diesen Gruppen Bedürfnisse und Verhaltensweisen zuzuschreiben. Diese Gruppen orientieren sich dabei häufig an sozio-demografischen Variablen wie Alter, Beruf, Geschlecht oder Fachrichtung. Die Keynote zeigt jedoch auf, dass die Einteilung in sozio-demografische Gruppen auch Nachteile hat, weil sie ihre Nutzer:innen als statische Personen porträtiert.

Vortrag in Deutsch und Französisch mit Simultanübersetzung / Présentation en français et en allemand avec traduction simultanée // Die konstruktive Zusammenarbeit zwischen SLSP und den Bibliotheken ist von zentraler Bedeutung für die erfolgreiche Weiterentwicklung von swisscovery und den angebotenen Services. Anhand der Zusammenarbeit mit der Kooperativen Speicherbibliothek Schweiz und ihren Mitgliederbibliotheken wird aufgezeigt, wie gewinnbringend die unterschiedlichen Perspektiven sind und wie wichtig es ist, die Expertise aller Beteiligten optimal zu nutzen und zusammenzubringen. Dadurch können komplexe Anforderungen und anspruchsvolle Probleme angegangen und effiziente, nachhaltige Lösungen erarbeitet werden.

This presentation invites you to engage with the issues at the intersection of AI and library services. We’ll explore an AI-supported search assistant in swisscovery and look at what questions and considerations this new way of discovering research raises. On the cataloging side, AI’s potential integration with the Community Zone also opens up a debate on the future of metadata management. Here we’ll look at current developments in that area. Join us as we delve into these questions, offering a space for reflection and discussion on the evolving role of AI in libraries.

Relaunch SLSPhere – Lucie Tallandier, Marie-Christine Unterholzner
Vortrag in Englisch / Présentation en anglais // After more than four years of working with the SLSPhere collaboration platform, we have been able to evaluate our use of this tool, identify its limitations, and understand our needs. Based on our findings and feedback from our customer libraries, we launched the “Relaunch SLSPhere” project with the goal of enhancing our utilization of the platform. The main objective of this project is to develop standards for content creation and maintenance in order to improve the user experience. This presentation will focus on the ongoing project and update you on its current status and the next steps.

We have created a forum within the SLSP platform akin to the Ex Libris Developer Forum, fostering knowledge exchange, learning about new technologies, and networking. This also includes organizing workshops like Developers’ Day and hackathons, not limited to Alma and Primo VE but encompassing the broader use of SLSP services, interfaces, and data to inspire local and joint projects.
Working with Purchase Requests – Maxime Sansonnens
Vortrag in Englisch / Présentation en anglais // With the purchase request, Alma and Primo VE allow users to request a document from Discovery. The form is filled in Discovery by the users and then handled in Alma by the library staff. During this session we will present this feature and show some configurations options and possibilities within SLSP.

This moment will also be the opportunity to illustrate which new solutions and improvements SLSP is promoting as member of the Focus group working with Ex Libris in the development of the software. To conclude, SLSP will present the tentative calendar to go live with the new interface.
Managing mass corrections in SLSP: approaches and experiences – Jeanette Hofer, Christiane Nikowitz

Vortrag in Englisch / Présentation en anglais // The work of the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries does not end with the successful negotiation of Open Access agreements with publishers such as Elsevier, Springer and Wiley. The processes involved in bringing these agreements to life are complex and multifaceted. This presentation will focus on the direct and indirect support by the Consortial Services to libraries to notify end users (authors, researchers) about their publishing options under Open Access agreements. We will also give insights into our collaboration with international services to provide information tools for end users.
“Recherche Patrimoniale” and the collaboration of the Swiss National Library with SLSP – Christian Aliverti (NB), Nikol Stepan (SLSP)
Vortrag auf Englisch / Présentation en anglais // This contribution reports on the collaboration between the Swiss National Library and SLSP in a project to create a unified view showcasing the inventories of swisscovery libraries and the Swiss National Library in one place. The example ‘Recherche Patrimoniale’ demonstrates the potential for integrating titles from the SLSP network and external partners, both nationally and internationally. The presentation also explores Primo VE bibliographic views by SLSP, explaining their purpose and how they differ from standard local views.

We begin with looking at the steps SLSP has taken in the area of usability to gain insights into patrons’ experience. Furthermore, discovery analytics is a crucial component to understand patrons. We will introduce Ex Libris’ new Primo analytical platform, Mixpanel, showcasing what it does and showing the current works surrounding this tool.
Forscher:innen als Nutzer:innen im Fokus: das Connectome-Projekt – Nikol Stepan (SLSP), Dr. Sebastian Siegloch (Switch)
Vortrag in Englisch / Présentation en anglais // swisscovery bietet ein riesiges Spektrum an Ressourcen, birgt aber auch komplexe Herausforderungen in der Nutzung. SLSP widmet sich intensiv diesem Thema, nun auch mit dem Fokus auf Forscher:innen. Dabei nutzen wir die Synergien mit Switch und deren Connectome-Projekt, welches darauf abzielt, durch Verknüpfung und Harmonisierung von Daten mit ihrem ‘Open Data Navigator’ die Datenbenutzbarkeit zu verbessern. Dieser Beitrag zeigt, wie wir gemeinsam mit Switch die Bedürfnisse von Forscher:innen in den Mittelpunkt stellen, um die User Experience kontinuierlich zu verbessern.

7DM cloudapp: How to solve “Irrläufer” issue and save time – Raphaël Rey
Vortrag in Englisch / Présentation en anglais // SLSP is currently developing a cloudapp to link Alma with 7DM systems. This application will replace the current 7DM interface and will be integrated directly into Alma. This will reduce the risk of errors (Irrläufer) and avoid double entries.

Vortrag in Englisch / Présentation en anglais // Normalization with authority data is a basic requirement for the implementation of the Semantic Web in libraries. The vocabulary of the authority data builds the semantic network. The normalization in the bibliographic data based on this semantic network ensures an optimized search experience for end users in Primo VE. Therefore, it is important that both the authority data and the links in the bibliographic data are reliable. This requires standards and systems that standardize the data management and data utilization using different authority files in different languages. We show what we have achieved in swisscovery, present our current challenges in this context and explain where we see further development possibilities and potential to get more flexibility in data exploration.
