Our esteemed CEO Thomas Marty is leaving the Swiss Library Service Platform (SLSP) per 29 February 2024. We would like to take this opportunity to extend our most heartfelt thanks to Thomas Marty and express our appreciation for his outstanding work and dedication to SLSP.<\/p>\n

Since assuming his duties as Director in January 2020, Thomas Marty has made a remarkable contribution to structuring and consolidating SLSP. His work for SLSP actually began back in 2014, when he was involved as a consultant and had a crucial hand in the development of our organisation. His commitment to the successful launch of swisscovery in December 2020, which he oversaw masterfully in spite of the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic, deserves special recognition.<\/p>\n

Thomas Marty was responsible for the transition of internal structures, from the project to the operating phase, and for optimising the services we offer. His contribution to devising SLSP\u2019s strategy and to restructuring its governance, as implemented in early 2024, is particularly noteworthy. These innovations, including the introduction of the Library Board, will shape the future of SLSP for a long time to come.<\/p>\n

On behalf of all SLSP colleagues, we would like to thank Thomas very sincerely. It was a joy and an honour for us to work under his inspiring leadership. We will miss his motivational presence and his appreciative management style, and wish him all the best for the future.<\/p>\n

Andreas Kirstein will succeed Thomas Marty on 1 April 2024. Andreas Kirstein has a proven track record in managerial roles, as well as longstanding experience in the library sector and a strong network within the community. Andreas Kirstein has been working for the ETH Library in Zurich for 35 years, and has been the Vice Director since 1997. In his many and varied roles during this time, he supported the transfer from the library management system ETHICS to Aleph, the predecessor of the current Alma system. Between 2014 and 2017, he was one of the driving forces behind a project team to establish SLSP and subsequently managed the transfer of the NEBIS Association to SLSP, with a particular focus on change management aspects. Andreas\u00a0Kirstein has longstanding experience and a wide network in the library sector as well as proven management experience. We look forward to welcome Andreas Kirstein as our new CEO as of 1.4.2024.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
