EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) is now a shareholder in the Swiss Library Service Platform (SLSP).
As a long-standing client, it is thus underlining its commitment to the development of the national library network in Switzerland while strengthening its collaboration with SLSP. By joining the shareholder base, EPFL has the opportunity to play an active role in SLSP’s strategic direction, to contribute its perspectives in a targeted manner and to help develop its services and infrastructure.
Adrian Wägli, Vice-President for Operations at EPFL, emphasises: “We are delighted to continue our long-standing collaboration with SLSP SA. By becoming a shareholder, EPFL will be able to participate in SLSP SA’s governing bodies and strengthen its contribution to the strategic discussions and direction of the Swiss library landscape in a particularly dynamic context.”
Andreas Kirstein, Director of SLSP, also welcomes this initiative: “EPFL’s participation is a strong sign of confidence in SLSP. We look forward to this deeper collaboration, which will give new impetus to the development of our services and to SLSP’s strategic direction.”
With EPFL’s participation, the SLSP network continues to expand. This further strengthens SLSP’s institutional roots within the Swiss academic and library community and consolidates the foundations for long-term joint development.
The Swiss Library Service Platform (SLSP) is a service provider for libraries and together with them operates the national library platform swisscovery, which bundles scientific information from currently 500 libraries in Switzerland.
